With summer just around the corner, it’s officially time to store your winter sports gear. Since this gear typically takes up a lot of space, you might want to consider renting a storage unit. Here are a few tips and tricks for proper storage of various winter sports items.

Snowboards and Skis
Buy a ski/snowboard rack to stack these items without scratching or damaging them. You can place this rack in your garage or a storage unit, and it will keep your gear safely stowed away and elevated from the ground.

Keep Your Gear Off The Floor

The above mentioned ski/snowboard rack will help with this. You can also install shelving in your garage. Why is it so important to keep your gear elevated? Because on the ground, it can quickly become a tripping hazard. It’s also more prone to damage if it’s on the floor.

Air Out Your Jackets

Winter jackets are usually very large and heavy. If you have multiple jackets, don’t store them close together. It’s vital to put space between them, just in case one becomes wet. The last thing you want is a storage unit full of moldy jackets.
