If you want to get the most out of your kitchen, you should be storing appliances efficiently. This depends largely on your lifestyle. If you cook a lot, you might need to organize your items in a different manner than someone who rarely uses the kitchen. Keep reading for some quick tips and tricks to organize your kitchen appliances.

1. Take stock of what you have.
First, evaluate what you use and don’t use. Take all of your kitchen appliances out so you can see them, and be honest with yourself about how often you use each item. You might find that you have a few unnecessary items that simply take up counter space. Create a keep pile and a donation pile, and separate items accordingly.

2. Plan the layout of your countertop.
Now that you know which appliances you’re going to keep and donate, plan the layout of your countertop space. Frequently used items should be displayed, such as your coffeemaker, toaster, and blender. Items that aren’t used as often, such as your crockpot and food processor, should be stored out of sight.

3. Declutter your cabinets.
Before putting your kitchen appliances back, clean out your cabinets. Go through everything...not just your appliances...and throw out expired food and spices, wipe down shelves, and make sure everything is clean and organized.

4. Use a cart for extra appliances.
If you have a lot of kitchen appliances and you cook/bake on a regular basis, consider adding a cart to your kitchen. You can store extra appliances on the cart that you want to be easily accessible. These are typically cheap and look cute in any kitchen.

5. Use a storage unit for everything else.
Now that you’ve organized your kitchen, you can finally sit back and relax. Just make your appliances don’t become cluttered again! If you find yourself with items you don’t use but don’t want to donate or throw out, consider a storage unit. These can be extremely useful if you can’t make up your mind about various items and want to give yourself time to think.
